Did you know that St George is England’s Patron Saint? About 1 in 4 English people don’t. So, we at Magical Tours in the spirit of patriotism have decided to educate the local population and take all the people who wish to join us on a day trip to Bedfordshire and the country’s biggest St George Day Celebration!
We will be headed to Wrest Park to be a part of the frivolity which includes cheering on your favourite knight in the joust (sigh), encountering a dragon and visiting the Key Keeper. The Key Keeper holds the keys to explore more than 3 centuries of DeGray family history (they’re the ones that lived at Wrest Park from 13th to the 19th Century) in the Mausoleum and Chapel. Lest you think this day is all about funeray fun (we’re Magical Tours, not Morbid), we are also stopping by Pembroke House, which is supposedly the inspiration for ‘House Beautiful’ in Pilgrim’s Progress and along with Wrest Park, has truly stunning gardens and grounds. Come with us as we travel the English Countryside to celebrate England’s St George. Did we mention that there will be dragon slaying at Wrest Park? Not too shabby…
We’ll be meeting at Hyde Park Corner at 9am on Saturday 23 April, so make sure you secure your spot on the coach. Tickets include coach travel and entrance to Wrest Park. You’ll need spending money for lunch and any medieval delights you take a shine to. I wonder if you can buy a lance…
